Project narrative

An A-frame is simple to build and hard to improve on. This one is drawn off the lean-tos along the Appalachian Trail - a modern version of somewhere to spend a night in the woods. One roof plane runs unbroken from the ridge to the ground on a single side and the gable end is glazed, so the whole of the view arrives through one opening.

It holds a bed, a desk, a wood-burning stove and storage for books and supplies, and not much else. The covered porch is there to keep you outside as long as the weather allows. It is designed to run entirely off-grid, and the oversized windows are most of the reason that does not feel like going without.

The images below are renders. Nothing to this design has been built yet, and the water in them is a rendered setting rather than a site anyone has bought.
