Terms & conditions
Last updated 28 August 2026
These terms cover www.offsite.camp, run by Offsite, a design and development studio in Brooklyn, New York. Using the site means you accept them. Our software has its own terms at aldo.offsite.camp.
What this site is
A portfolio and a place we write about building. It is not a purchase, a quote, or an offer of services on particular terms. Work with us begins with a signed agreement covering scope, fee and schedule; nothing on this site is that agreement and nothing here can be accepted to form one.
We are not architects, and it matters
Offsite is not a licensed architecture or engineering firm. On a project that needs a stamped drawing we bring in an architect or an engineer to provide it, and we say so at the start. Nothing on this site is architectural, engineering, legal or financial advice, and none of it creates a professional relationship.
What we write about zoning and cost
We publish a lot about what towns allow and what building costs. It is researched carefully and it is still general information: codes get amended, a parcel has conditions a map does not show, and prices move. Verify anything you are going to spend money on with the municipality and with your own consultants before you spend it. Decisions you make from reading this site are yours.
Our work belongs to us
The text, photographs, drawings, designs and code on this site are ours or used with permission, and copyright stays with us. Read it, link to it, quote a bit of it with attribution. Do not republish it wholesale, and do not build from drawings shown here without an agreement with us - a photograph of a cabin is not a licence to build it.
What you send us
When you send a message, a brief or a residency application, you keep ownership of it. You give us permission to read it, store it and reply to it, which is all we need. See the privacy policy for where it goes. Please do not send confidential material through a web form before we have talked.
Links out
We link to municipal codes, mapping sites and other people's writing. Those are not ours and we are not responsible for them.
Availability, and the limit of our liability
The site is provided as it is. We do not promise it will be available without interruption or free of errors. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss arising from using it or relying on it.
Nothing here limits liability that cannot legally be limited.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of New York, and the courts of New York have jurisdiction over any dispute about them.
