Short-term rentals
Short-term rentals allowed with local rules. It is not allowed in any other district.
Conditions the code attaches:
- The permit cap is 2% of the town's dwelling units, and renewals are subject to it on a first-come, first-served basis.
- An owner may hold at most two permits, one owner-occupied and one non-owner-occupied, corporations do not qualify, and permits cannot be transferred.
- Permits run two years with an annual fire and safety inspection, and neighbors within 200 feet are notified of the application.
- One short-term rental per parcel, and none on a vacant parcel or on a parcel used for multifamily, commercial or industrial purposes.
- A local manager must live within 30 miles of Town Hall and be able to respond in person within one hour.
- New York State's short-term rental registry requires every host to register the unit. Confirm with the Town of Lloyd at (845) 691-2144 before counting on short-term rental income.
