Short-term rentals
Short-term rentals allowed with local rules. Short-term rentals are allowed only in the Restricted Business, Commercial and Mixed Use districts, with a building permit, certificate of occupancy and operating permit. They are prohibited in residential, Apartment, Townhouse, Industrial and Planned Development districts.
Conditions the code attaches:
- Permitted rentals operate under a policy set by the Director of Building and Codes, who may revoke the operating permit of a rental deemed a habitual nuisance.
- A bed-and-breakfast is a separate use that needs a special permit from the Board of Appeals after a public hearing.
- New York State's short-term rental registry requires every host to register the unit. Confirm with the Town of Perinton at (585) 223-0770 before listing.
